Beatification of Pope John Paul II

The Beatification of Pope John Paul II is such a powerful witness of a man who had many crosses and sufferings to bear. As a young child, he lost his mother. He lived through a violent period of time with the Communist regime in his beloved Poland. His reign as Pope was marked by years of arduous travel and pilgrimage, bringing hope and joy wherever he went.

In his later years, he endured the trauma of an attempt on his life. To think he had the strength to visit the man in prison, who fired the deadly bullet and to forgive him! Finally, his daily battle with the physical suffering of Parkinson’s Disease is a call to all of us to pick up our daily cross and follow Jesus!

We thank him for the blessing of being at his Beatification and for calling us to begin our apostolate of Prayers For Life in 1998…to raise up the “great outcry of prayer for life” that he knew was essential for the culture of life.

Blessed John Paul, pray for us. Help us to build WQPH 89.3 FM!
